Hari Hara Veera Mallu (2025)
Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit is a Telugu period action-adventure film set in the 17th-century Mughal era. The film stars Pawan Kalyan as Veera Mallu, a legendary outlaw on a mission to reclaim the priceless Koh-i-Noor diamond to help a city oppressed under Mughal rule. Alongside Pawan, the cast includes Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, and others.
Directed initially by Krish Jagarlamudi and completed by A. M. Jyothi Krishna, the movie features screenplay and dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, with music composed by Oscar-winning M. M. Keeravani. Production began in 2020 but faced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and political commitments, pushing its release to 24 July 2025 across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
The film blends history, rebellion, and action, focusing on Veera Mallu’s daring heist to retrieve the diamond and empower the oppressed. It features intense action sequences, including a major fight scene that took 60 days to film.
Critically, the movie received mixed reviews—Pawan Kalyan’s performance and the ambitious scale were praised, but the visual effects, pacing, and second half faced criticism. Despite this, it performed well commercially, earning over ₹44 crore on opening day, marking Pawan Kalyan’s biggest opener.
In summary, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a grand, ambitious period drama combining action, history, and rebellion with strong star power, though it falters in execution and CGI quality.
